Secure Payment Setup
We use a secure, PCI-compliant payment system through Stripe. A payment method must be saved on file to secure the consult request, but the card is not charged at booking.Who can pay?
The requesting veterinarian may use either:A personal professional card, or
The veterinary hospital’s payment card
We cannot accept payment information directly from pet owners.
Billing Process
After the consult is completed, an itemized invoice is sent to the billing contact on file. Reminder notices are sent at Days 1, 7, and 14 if unpaid.Automatic Payment After 21 Days
Invoices unpaid after 21 days will be automatically charged to the saved payment method.Hospital Responsibility
The requesting hospital remains fully responsible for all consulting fees. -

Atlantic ER Vet Consults offers two ways to submit cases depending on urgency.
***All hospitals must complete onboarding before submitting consult requests***
1. Standard Scheduled Consults (Non-STAT)
Best for most new cases, case reviews, and follow-up management questions.
How to Submit a Standard Consult

Initial Consult = new case
Follow-Up = active ongoing case
Select a review time
Choose an available review block from the schedule.Complete the submission form
Upload patient history, diagnostics, imaging, laboratory data, and clinician/hospital contact information.Confirm VCPR compliance & payment
Submission is finalized once the form and secure payment information are completed.
2. STAT / Urgent Consults
For unstable patients or cases requiring rapid discussion, STAT consults must be initiated by phone.
How STAT Consults Work
Call 843-227-6052 to discuss real-time availability with the consulting clinician.
If available, the case will be reviewed urgently with direct clinician-to-clinician communication.
Before a STAT Consult Can Proceed
Your hospital must:
Have a signed Master Service Agreement (MSA) on file
Provide billing/contact information for invoicing and payment processing
If onboarding has not yet been completed, this can typically be handled quickly before the consult begins.

Atlantic ER Vet Consults generally accepts cases between 8:00 AM–4:00 PM ET
Written consult responses are typically provided within 4 hours of submission.
Follow-up communication is supported until approximately 6:00 PM ET.
Availability may vary depending on clinical workload and hospital responsibilities. Some days may allow expanded availability, while others may reach capacity earlier.
Same-day discussion availability
Cases submitted later in the day may have more limited opportunity for same-day back-and-forth discussion. Earlier submission is recommended when ongoing communication is anticipated.

Consultation Options
Initial Consult – $175
A comprehensive written report based on submitted patient records, labs, and imaging. Provides a clear plan for stabilization and ongoing care. Written response time within 4 hours.Follow-Up (Next Day) – $85
For clarifications or questions regarding the same case submitted for the initial consult. Ensures continuity of guidance and patient safety.STAT Consult – $380
Immediate review of urgent cases, with a response within approximately 15 minutes (phone contact required). Next-day follow-ups are $85 per case. -
Yes. STAT consults are available for critical or unstable patients requiring immediate guidance and do not require calendar booking.
How do STAT consults work?
Call or text 843-227-6052 to discuss real-time availability with the consulting clinician.
If available, the case will be reviewed immediately with direct veterinarian-to-veterinarian communication.
If the call is missed, a return call will be made as quickly as possible.
Rapid verbal stabilization guidance is provided first, followed by a formal written treatment plan within approximately 4 hours.
STAT consults are generally available during business hours, with same-day follow-up support provided after the initial stabilization discussion.

Your hospital must:
Have a signed Master Service Agreement (MSA) on file
Provide billing/contact information for payment processing

After your initial consult, same-day follow-up questions should be sent by call or text to 843-227-6052, as email is not continuously monitored.
Same-day follow-up questions are welcome until 6:00 PM ET on the day the consult is submitted.
Questions submitted after 6:00 PM ET or on the next business day should be booked as a Follow-Up Consult to ensure timely review and organized case management.
Example:
If an initial consult is submitted at 4:00 PM, the written response will still be provided within the standard 4-hour response window.Additional questions after 6:00 PM would be addressed the next business day through a Follow-Up Consult request.
